Gallium-PSMA PET/CT

Positron Emission Tomography

It’s a regular PET/CT examination from skull to mid-thigh after intravenous injection of the radioactive material (68Gallium-Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen), which attaches to and identifies prostate cancer cells locally in the prostate as well as its metastasis all over the body.

First site in Egypt to start the exam

THE FUTURE in cancer prostate imaging

It’s very sensitive to prostate cancer cells, it detects the location of cancer cells accurately at a very early stage and at very low PSA levels before all other modalities.

  1. Localization of site of tumor recurrence in the setting of biochemical recurrence specially with low PSA values.
  2. Primary staging in intermediate or high-risk prostate cancer before surgical procedures or planning external beam radiation, where the likelihood of lymph node, bone and other organs metastases is increased.
  3. Monitoring of systemic treatment in metastatic prostate cancer.
  4. Targeting biopsy after previous negative biopsy in patients with high suspicion of prostate cancer.
  5. To assess degree of PSMA receptors expression before 177Lutetium-PSMA therapeutic radioactive doses.
